I'm interested in starting a DK4 group focused on sustainable nuclear power. I know that there a handful of diarists here who have written extensively and from experience on nuclear power. I am not one of those diarists, but I have great interest in the subject and I would like to help create a forum where ideas can be presented and discussed.

If you are interested in nuclear power and think such a group would be worthwhile please leave a comment. I hope that the group could focus on the role nuclear power can play in mitigating climate change. Some of the topics I hope to see discussed are advanced reactor designs, spent fuel recycling, small scale / modular reactors and alternative fuel cycles, particularly the thorium fuel cycle. If you have knowledge of these topics I hope you'll consider participating. If you know of diarists who you think would be interested please point me to them and I'll try to solicit their participation.
I don't intend to create a group that simply advances the interests of the existing nuclear power industry. They have plenty of marketing and PR resources and don't need my help. I want to explore new concepts in reactor design, alternative fuel cycles, changing the economics of nuclear power and the role of nuclear power in the developing world. I am also very interested in advancing the environmental argument for nuclear power.
I am also thinking of starting a weekly diary with a round-up of news related to sustainable nuclear power. If you can suggest sources for such a diary series please leave a comment with a link. I've got a handful of blogs and nuclear news sites that I'll be following to create the diaries such as "NEI Nuclear Notes" and "This Week in Nuclear" but I'm sure there are many others I should follow.
I've just started exploring DK4 groups and need some guidance on how one is established and how various roles are assigned and approved. If you have any pointers I'd appreciate hearing from you in comments.
